Theme of the Moon

I knew what this picture would be called the moment I started sketching it. I just wanted to make a drawing by that title.

I read as a kid that we can only see one side of the moon and there are "scars" from the moon chrashing into something (was it Earth I can't remember...) aannd...of course I had to do something like this..

.............so well.

The scan quality isn't too good.

But I like her dress.

Originally this picture was very white but then I decided to make the background black after all. I think it gives a certain air of loneliness to it. White, too, but that's...different kind of loneliness.
